about slaters ales

Slater's Ales - formerly known as Eccleshall Brewery is a very successful family run brewery which was established in March 1995 in its original premises behind the George Hotel in Eccleshall by Ged and Moyra Slater.

In an effort to meet increasing demand from customers for our award winning beers, we took the unprecedented decision to move to new premises in 2004. With a blank canvas and ten years of experience, we built the current operation from the ground up and we are now operating in a state of the art brewery producing some of the finest beers in the UK today. We have seen production capacity increase three fold from 10 barrels to 30 barrels during the last two years.

The move from Eccleshall to our current brewing plant in St Albans Road Stafford has enabled us to improve both consistency and quality in our beers and also produce enough beer to cope with the increasing demand from new customers. This increase in demand has also enabled us to double our full time staff from four to eight in the last twelve months.

Over the past twelve years Slater's Ales have won numerous awards from both SIBA and CAMRA at both local and national levels. These include winning

  • West Midlands Beer of the Year three times winner with Bitter and Supreme
  • Won Silver and Bronze with Bitter.
  • Supreme has also won Bronze in Best Bitter Category twice at GBBF.
  • SIBA Midlands 2006 we won Gold for Top Totty in the Specialty Beer Category and Bronze overall.

Following our winning streak we have made Top Totty available in bottles. They come in cases of 12 (500ml) bottles and will be available to buy direct from our web site shortly!
